Despite a long-held mistrust between witches and vampires, they form an alliance and set out to protect the book and solve the mysteries hidden within while dodging threats from the creature world.
A Discovery of Witches Season 3 - Episode 1
A Discovery of Witches will premiere its third season on Saturday, January 8, for viewers in the U.S. Only the first episode of Season 3 will be available to stream. The series will release new episodes weekly on Saturdays.
Season 3 will consist of seven episodes, making it the shortest season of A Discovery of Witches. The first season had eight episodes, and the second had 10. So, expect the third season to wind things down at a faster pace than previous years.
Fans may have a while until they meet this new Baldwin, with shooting for season three only recently concluding and no word yet from Sky as to when the final episodes of A Discovery of Witches will actually come to TV.
A Discovery of Witches is actually really good at setting up things not only for the first season but for the series itself. We meet most of our main characters during the first episode and it sets up the drama for the season.
Season 3 of A Discovery of Witches has come to its dramatic end, and we now have answers to some of the big problems that were plaguing our main cast of characters. The final episode sees our heroine Diana Bishop (Teresa Palmer) finding what she needs to harness her powers completely and defeating the people trying to destroy her household. It also gives us answers to one of the biggest questions of the series: will there be a future where all creatures (vampires, daemons, witches, and humans) can exist together, despite their differences, in peace and harmony?
The third season of A Discovery of Witches started out on a high note since the episode quickly established the main storylines and introduced the newest characters. It was a bit odd to see Peter McDonald take over the Baldwin role, but he did very well with the role. It is nice to see him tackle a unique role like this. Matthew and Diana are just as dynamic as they were during the first season many years ago although Matthew might be a little more intense now. That makes sense now that he has a wife to protect.
The opening episode of season three deserves an 8 out of 10. Past and future recaps of A Discovery of Witches will be available on Reel Mockery here. If you like what we do here and want to support Reel Mockery, send us an email using the contact form here. 041b061a72
